Support WSL and Windows App Integration

Current Behavior

As of https://github.com/1Password/onepassword-sdk-go/releases/tag/v0.4.0-beta.2 release:

The SDK gives the possibility to use the SDK App Integration on Windows, which subsequently works as well with the 1password terraform provider.

There is a catch, if you're on WSL, it doesn't detect the Windows app integration: 1Password/terraform-provider-onepassword#267

Desired Behavior

The SDK should be able to detect the Windows app, if ran in WSL.

Hey @Llyth can your WSL even reach the underlying Windows file system? It's a matter of finding a path to where the desktop app is found. You can test it yourself manually by editing the path for Linux (that's what WSL looks at) in internal/shared_lib_core.go to look for the Windows path. I'm curious if that would work, because from what I know, WSL doesn't allow breaking virtualisation like that?

Hi,

I was able to reach Windows file system (User AppData) using /mnt/c/User/... as requested by @AndyTitu in #235 (comment).

The issues lies in the library being a .dll and we are in Linux, therefore I could not load the library.

FYI, I also tried the "simple" inter-op route you guys used to enable SSH forwarding from WSL (which works perfectly).

BUT, switching terraform/opentofu with terraform.exe/opentofu.exe is also using Windows version of .terraform.lock (including your provider lock), which is not working as of now (cf. hashicorp/terraform#35344).

TL;DR:

• Using linux version is no go - WSL not being able to load .dll
• Using windows version is no go - WSL does not support Terraform/Opentofu 'Windows' lock mechanism
