Email map of latest locations

It's been helpful getting daily location updates. Another thing that would be valuable would be receiving a daily map of the most recent locations via email. It would make it easier to track daily movements when we are away from the office or have poor internet connection. Can you envision a way to develop an automated email for something like that?

I think this could be done with Python and arcpy in a script similar to email_updates.py:

1. Create a map document with a query layer for the latest location. User should be consulted on the basemap layers they prefer as well as point symbology and labeling. Save the map in a well known location available to the script.
2. The script would open the map with arcpy.mapping or arcpy.mp (Pro). Zoom to extents, export the jpg to a temporary folder.
3. Then attach the jpeg to the email message. Examples here and here
