Otherwise, the point of instantiation for such a specialization immediately

An explicit instantiation definition is an instantiation

The instantiation context of an expression that depends on the template
arguments is the set of declarations with external linkage declared prior to the
point of instantiation of the template specialization in the same translation
unit.

A specialization for a function template, a member function template,
or of a member function or static data member of a class template may have
multiple points of instantiations within a translation unit, and in addition
to the points of instantiation described above, for any such specialization
that has a point of instantiation within the translation unit, the end of the
translation unit is also considered a point of instantiation.
A specialization for a class template has at most one point of instantiation
within a translation unit.
A specialization for any template may have points of instantiation in multiple
translation units.
If two different points of instantiation give a template specialization
different meanings according to the one-definition rule~(\ref{basic.def.odr}),
the program is ill-formed, no diagnostic required.

\rSec3[temp.dep.candidate]{Candidate functions}

the candidate functions are found using the usual lookup

\rSec2[temp.inject]{Friend names declared within a class template}

Friend classes or functions can be declared within a class template.
When a template is instantiated, the names of its friends are treated
as if the specialization had been explicitly declared at its point of
instantiation.

As with non-template classes, the names of namespace-scope friend
functions of a class template specialization are not visible during
an ordinary lookup unless explicitly declared at namespace scope~(\ref{class.friend}).
Such names may be found under the rules for associated

of the program.

instantiated from its template.
A member function, member class or static data member of a class template can
be explicitly instantiated from the member definition associated with its class
template. An explicit instantiation of a function template
or member function of a class template

of a function template, template argument deduction is performed to identify
the specialization to which the declaration refers. Specifically, this is done
for explicit instantiations~(\ref{temp.explicit}), explicit specializations~(\ref{temp.expl.spec}),
and certain friend declarations~(\ref{temp.friend}). This is also done to
determine whether a deallocation function template specialization matches a placement
\tcode{operator new}~(\ref{basic.stc.dynamic.deallocation},~\ref{expr.new}).
In all these cases, \tcode{P} is the type of the function template being considered
as a potential match and \tcode{A} is either the function type from the
declaration
or the type of the deallocation function that would match the placement
\tcode{operator new} as described in~\ref{expr.new}. The
deduction is done as described in~\ref{temp.deduct.type}.

A function template can be overloaded either by (non-template) functions of its
name or by (other) function templates of the same name.
When a call to that name is written (explicitly, or implicitly using the
operator notation), template argument deduction~(\ref{temp.deduct})
and checking of any explicit template arguments~(\ref{temp.arg}) are performed
for each function template to find the template argument values (if any) that
can be used with that function template to instantiate a function template
specialization that can be invoked with the call arguments.
For each function template, if the argument deduction and checking succeeds,
the
\grammarterm{template-argument}{s}
(deduced and/or explicit)
are used to synthesize the declaration of
a single function template specialization which is
added to the candidate functions set to be used in overload resolution.
If, for a given function template, argument deduction fails or
