Set Heating operation mode to backup-heater and other operation modes

Hi Dev(s), I’m super excited about this awesome HA Integration for my Alpha Innotec HMD2 + 2 x LWD 50! There’s just one thing I’d love to see: while it’s set to switch Domestic Water Heating to Backup Heater and all other modes, like if the engine breaks down, it doesn’t seem to work for heating. I’d be thrilled if you could think about adding that feature. Thanks a bunch!

This is actually already supported — you're looking for the select.heating_mode entity (and its DHW counterpart select.dhw_mode that you mentioned already works). It writes the same underlying "operating mode" parameter as DHW, just for the heating circuit, with options: Off / Automatic / Second heatsource / Party / Holidays — "Second heatsource" is the backup-heater-only mode.

If you don't see it in your entity list, check under the Heating device for a disabled entity called "Heating mode" and enable it.

Alternatively, if you use the Heating climate entity/card, the same mode is exposed as the Boost preset (preset_mode: boost → second heat source only).
