Describe the feature you'd like

I suggest adding a feature to the new Editor that allows to create new format blocks by typing "/" followed by a command.

The range of commands could be anything that you can do via shortcut or button above the editor, from adding links to other pages over just creating simple headings to adding a media block.

Here is an example from Nextcloud Collectives (the Wiki-Plugin for Nextcloud):
The hint translates to "Begin writing or try "/" to add things and "@" to mention people..."

Describe the benefits this would bring to existing BookStack users

If the feature is combined with a placeholder hint in empty pages it makes Shortcuts much more available and visible to a broad user-base. Right now some not so technical users seem to not find the existing shortcuts easily as they are fairly hidden under a question_mark icon between a lot of buttons.

Can the goal of this request already be achieved via other means?

Well, yeah there could be some improvement to guiding users around to find features like shortcuts, but i think the requested feature is a much better solution to this particular issue.

Have you searched for an existing open/closed issue?

  • I have searched for existing issues and none cover my fundamental request

How long have you been using BookStack?

3 months to 1 year

Additional context

Thanks for all your work! <3 Don't feel pressured please :)
