MicrobeTrace is an intuitive, powerful, free web-browser based application that uses a combination of genomic and/or epidemiological data to display customizable networks and other visuals.

The visualization can be customized using supplemental data sources like demographic data, geospatial data and mathematical inferences like the most probable transmission pathways. MicrobeTrace is a highly responsive, visual sequence analytics tool which overlay genomic and epi data using simple point and click interfaces , reducing the gap between data production and analytics and help you to discover, understand, and display relationships between patients, pathogen sequences or places (nodes). MicrobeTrace can be deployed on laptops to locations without any Internet access, thereby reducing both the startup cost and analysis time and effort. MicrobeTrace Global Visitors

This Tableau dashboard visually represents visitor and user counts for the MicrobeTrace website from 2018 to 2026. A user is defined as a visitor who completed at least one session lasting 10 seconds or more within the specified time period. Unique visitors are individuals who accessed the website at least once, regardless of usage. Total visitors include both new and returning visitors. The bar chart displays yearly MicrobeTrace visitors from 2018 to 2026. Orange bars indicate unique visitors, while teal bars represent total visitors. The heatmap shows total visitors and users by country and state. A teal gradient represents visitor density at the country level, while orange circles indicate state or province-level data. Darker orange circles mark areas with fewer unique visitors, and lighter orange circles highlight regions with higher numbers of unique visitors.

As of February 2026, MicrobeTrace has received more than 18,000 visitors, including over 13,000 users, and has accumulated more than 30,000 total site visits. The bar chart shows annual visitor counts from 2018 through 2026, highlighting significant growth during the COVID‑19 pandemic in 2021 and 2022.
