Play Store Release

Consider releasing Artemis on the Google Play Store like Moonlight. This would improve accessibility for installation especially on Android TV devices.

On most devices you can sideload Artemis.

I don't want to fuzz with play store releases since it'll force me to buy a developer account and submit my personal information to verify my identity, with Obtainium you can also track updates automatically.

From next year we wont be doing this. At least on most updated Android phones when Google ban side-loading of APKs.

No EU law is going to stop this. The one Apple got passed by the EU for third party stores still requires all apps to be approved by Apple and the app developers will need to be registered with Apple. Google is going to do the same thing now they see how much of a pushover the EU was.

Don’t want to talk politics here but for this thing we can’t avoid politics at all. You already know that VoidLink can’t be published as game due to the publisher account is Chinese, similar things will happen to Artemis. As the current US government is hostile to Chinese people, it’s not very practical for me to setup a US company just for publishing Artemis.

I’m avoiding this topic at all costs but it’s totally unavoidable at this moment.

FYI, I have my own company in China and logically it’s better to publish Artemis under a company instead of an individual, and it’s logically better for me to setup a US company for legal and further business considerations, it’s just not the right time to do so.

I plan to sort all of these out before June 2026, and I have to finish my own project and solve the sustainability of my income first.

@ClassicOldSong I'm sure many would be willing to purchase any future app that is published on Android platforms. Artemis is so superior to the Moonlight app.
