GitHub discussions notifications show up in the app but when selecting then it says invalid data format.

Thanks for the report. I have to find out how to get some discussion record into my notification stream to investigate data from API

You can enable discussions here or I can create a test repo with discussions enabled.

I enabled discussions for this project, I expect someone else have to add something there to appear in my notification stream so I can investigate API response fields

Hmm, github /notifications REST API doesn't provide any URL pointing to the Discussion detail, so there is not any way how to get URL to be opened from the GH:watch :-(
See empty subject.url element in the response.

I can try to contact github support to patch this problem, but my previous experience is not very good in this area, we will see

Discussions are not currently available via our REST API so there isn't anywhere for the url field to point to at the moment. I'm
sorry not to have better news for you!
The team is working towards making discussions available via the API[1], at which point I hope you'd be able to make use of those notifications in your app, but we don't have an ETA on those changes. I'd suggest keeping an eye on our changelog and blog.

So best I can do in the app is to change message not to be generic error but explaining what is going on.

Thanks for the follow-up, is it possible to filter out discussions until the API is available?

I think it may be still useful to see that new discussion item is available, even if it is not possible to open it directly.

Github have now finally implemented the required required API and GH:watch works correctly.
