Never mind. I figured it out myself. |

Hi, I am maintaining several different projects in dependency track. Now, when I add a new component (say avahi 0.8) to one project, I would like to check if the component has already been added to other projects, so I can use the same "bom-ref" in my CycloneDX BOM. It seems this is the only way to later see which projects are using the component.
So I try to use the Component Search, where the only practical search field for me is PURL.
However, the Component Search only works, if I get the prefix perfectly right.

If I only search for a substring within the PURL, it does not find it.

But I do not always know the correct prefix (e.g. for some components both pkg:github/ or pkg:cargo/ are possible) so I might miss that a component is already present.
Am I doing it wrong or what would be the best practice in this case?
Thanks!
