Windows Build EMsoftOO

Hi all,

i have a general question, regarding the built of EMsoftOO on WIndows PC.

With the new versions of
I would like to build this on windows, using visual studio 2022 and the newest intel fortran compiler

From 2025 on, ifx replaces ifort as Intel Fortran compiler. Due to this, i run into several errors and can not build EMsoftOO.

Has anyone done it succesfully?

Since i want to use the 4DEBSD program, using version 5.0 is not an option

Hi,

From my experience, building EMsoftOO on Windows is quite challenging, primarily because of the differences between the GCC Fortran and Intel Fortran compilers. This requires extensive code modifications and, in some cases, adjustments during SDK compilation. I did manage to get it working when EMsoftOO was first released, but gave up and switched to macOS.

If you have access to Linux/macOs, this would be the easiest solution.

yes indeed it is a lot modifications...

somehow i achieved to install the SDK. But for the package compiling, i am running from one error into another...

Although it compiled about 52%, i now will try it on an iMAC from 2015 (might be too old) and additionally thinking about setting up a pc with ubuntu at work lets see...

small update:

compilling worked on mac

the master pattern simulation worked fine, but using EMgetMP always fails with the following output:

is the input for the masterfile wrong?
i also tried using the complete path /Users/.../Ni-Mc-20kV.h5 but the same error occurs
