vite 7?

I am currently using vite_rails 3.0.19 and vite 6.3.6 with my Rails app.

Vite 7 is out, 7.0.0 was June 24 2025, latest is vite 7.1.10

Is there any reason not to upgrade vite to latest 7? Any concerns? Is anyone use using vite_ruby/rails with vite 7?

I did, just deployed last week, everything worked fine and looks good so far, I had to change nothing but updating vite/npm plugin dependencies (including needed to update my sass package to a later version compat with vite 7).

OK though, one annoyance is that upgrading to LATEST npm (dart) sass gives me tons of deprecation warnings from bootstrap, that bootstrap seems to be in no hurry to fix (and not until next major version release). twbs/bootstrap#40849

Still works, just tons of deprecations.

It may be that sass 1.78.0 is still new enough to work with vite 7, but old enough not to get so much deprecation, still investigating.
