Description

Task: Benchmark CUBE behavior in local vs distributed execution modes

Status

New

Priority

P1

Context / Background

Architecture discussion around remote polling, logs, events, and messaging should be constrained by actual deployment behavior rather than assumption.

Meeting discussion highlighted that:

  • local SSD-backed behavior is currently fast
  • edge deployments may be much smaller than center deployments
  • infrastructure-heavy solutions may not be justified across the whole deployment surface

Detailed Scope

  1. Run representative comparisons of CUBE behavior in local vs distributed modes.
  2. Record observed differences relevant to:
  • throughput
  • latency
  • storage overhead
  • network overhead
  • operational complexity
  1. Summarize implications for remote polling / telemetry / logging architecture.

Acceptance Criteria

  • Benchmark scenario(s) are described.
  • Results are recorded in this issue.
  • Local vs distributed observations are explicit.
  • Architectural implications are stated briefly and concretely.

Management Note

This issue is for evidence generation.

Out of scope:

  • broad architecture debate without benchmark evidence
  • implementation of a new telemetry stack
