I tested this with two different Wi-Fi adapters, and I'm getting the same results with both. When I try to run Hostapd, the target device does not get disconnected from the host network. However, when I use Airbase-NG, the target device is successfully disconnected from the host.
All deauth attacks are not working at all using hostapd, not a single one is working
The two adapters I tested are:
- AWUS036NHA (AR9271)
- AWUS036AXM (MT7921AU)
Both adapters show the same behavior on Kali Linux 2025.2. This makes me think the issue may not be related to the Wi-Fi adapters themselves, but possibly to the Hostapd configuration, driver compatibility, or how Hostapd is handling the deauthentication process compared to Airbase-NG.
Everything is running smoothly when I use Airbase-ng only, otherwise no one is getting disconnected from the network at all.
