We need some CSS to differentiate handwritten notes (from Thomas and S-GA) from main text. This is both for margin notes displaying variants as well as for the display of Thomas and S-GA. For example, sometimes MWS deleted a passage and wrote the word "bad" next to it. The word "bad" appears in our variant note as if it's part of the main text rather than a comment MWS made on it.
Here's another example showing a passage with MWS's commentary as if it were main text, from a screen capture of C07:
This is a pretty important and interesting example of a note in Thomas that may or may not be in MWS's hand (it might be in the hand of Mrs. Thomas or another friend writing marginal comments for revision suggestions). The note portion of it just reads, "you said your family was not sientific" (sic). We need to differentiate this meta-commentary with some CSS styling both in the margin notes and the main viewer.
