Context

Hello! I noticed that https://handbook.tts.gsa.gov/ was taken offline (thankfully the repo is still here!). I don't know if this was intentional but just want to flag for me in my agency this is an invaluable resource across government and has been an amazing model for a public onboarding resource. I'm not sure if the disruption is temporary, but I hope so. It has also been something we've pointed to in order to make the argument for open source resources from agencies for onboarding. Thanks!

Hey loganmcdonald-fsa - This is intentional. TTS is moving our handbook into a local GSA collaboration service to prioritize maintenance specific to TTS' needs. This repository will still be available as a public archive.

Thanks for your response @pete-gov. I truly appreciate the repo still being here and I can assure you it will continue to be a resource we use. I will just note for the public record, from my perspective as a former applicant to public service, current federal employee, and member of the public, in-housing the information is a loss for agencies outside of TTS, for future public servants looking to join the government, and the public for understanding a bit better how the government operates.

The TTS handbook has long been a shinning example for agencies of an open source ethos, and the results are clear in its impact on how other agencies both federal and local have chosen to engage with the public in a similar way. I hope this comment serves as a reason to reverse action sometime in the future although I know how hard open sourcing something that has been closed can be. I wish you all the best in the continued operations of TTS, have a wonderful day.

Yeah, same - unfortunately most of these guides have been unmaintained for years and are very out of date (in some cases dangerously so). It's not fair to anyone to publicly publish materials that don't have accountable maintainers and owners to ensure they remain accurate and helpful.
