Is it possible to implement a square brackets format for pinyin/bopomofo in addition (or instead of) ruby, similar to how it's done in Japanese Support and Migaku Chinese?
The reason I am asking this is that I believe it's much easier to edit than ruby. It also looks better than having pinyin/bopomofo on a separate line.

An example of how it may look (Migaku Chinese):

How it looks now (by the way, see how ruby can look very weird sometimes):

I can see how that would be a bit easier to manually edit, I'll look into it.

That would actually be pretty useful, the two things which bug me the most are when the addon gets the tones wrong and I have to manually edit the class and also when google tts gets the tones wrong. Something like this would make it a lot easier to modify things.

That there should be an easier way to change tones is already logged in #26. The basic functionality is there, but it needs to be expanded.
