iha `group2` error: `only 0's may be mixed with negative subscripts`

Appears some times when using group2 with water year setting -- maybe has something to do with gage starts and ends? As of 5/19/2025 this example produces the error:

# this produces the error (note: default for year="water")
gfa <- hydrotools::group2(gage_flows_all)
# while this is fine:
gfa <- hydrotools::group2(gage_flows_all, year="calendar")

The issue is thrown in the caTools package, though no ither reports of it could be found in that repo. https://github.com/spluque/caTools/issues

Thanks Rob. Do you mind posting where you're getting gage_flows_all from? I want to replicate the error and verify that it does / does not occur in the original IHA package. Then I can track down why we are seeing a difference with the original package or where this bug may be coming from. If caTools is throwing an error, then the error must be occuring as it calculates rolling mean flows. Most likely this means something wasn't formatted correctly going into caTools to begin with.

@COBrogan oh yeah, the gauge! Sorry hon forgot to do that… It's gonna take me a minute now because I was looking at three or four different water sheds yesterday and can't recall which one through the error.

But what I can say for certain is that I verified that running it from IHA::group2 produced the same error, so it does not appear to be anything introduced in the migration to hydrotools.

I'll post back here as soon as I find the code to reproduce it.
