Problems with profiles and enabling/disabling dual page mode

I created a profile to enable dual page mode when opening a specific book.

Setup:
Used auto-execute -> if book metadata contains -> Title -> [title] (can also use tags, paths, etc). Actions: Set auto-enable dual page mode - > True

This works when opening the specified book, and provides the intended functionality.

Problem:
It doesn't disable the auto-enable setting (which I don't need for other books)

Attempted solution:
Create a profile with Set auto-enable dual page mode - > False when closing this specific book. The problem is that the auto-enable setting doesn't disable, although the profile does trigger (turned on notification).

Tested with Set Page Mode -> Dual/Single instead, but for the first profile (enabling, selecting dual) this doesn't trigger actual dual page view (although the setting does get turned on, it need to be re-toggled). And for the second profile (disabling, selecting single), it doesn't manage to disable the auto-enabled dual page (if enabled) and does not change to single page display in the layout.

The main issues seem to be:

1. Auto-enable doesn't get disabled even though the profile does trigger
2. Selecting single/dual page view changes the setting (in the bottom menu when reading) but does not trigger the actual dual/single page view

I solved this by creating a new profile to trigger on book opening (any) that disables auto-enabling dual page mode

Is this what you mean? For me it triggers an update and enables dual mode.

Regarding disabling it when book closes, I believe this is an issue with how KOReader works. As you're trying to update reader setting while exiting the reader, hence it works when you configure it to change reader settings when you open the book. As the code that is responsible for handling this setting change event has already been stopped.

Yes, it seems you are right in that KOReader can't update the reader setting when triggered by exiting the reader. As noted, the best solution I found was to create a separate profile disabling auto-enable and doing Set page mode: single when opening any book. Not very elegant, but functional. This profile also triggers when opening the book in question, but then the specific auto-enable and dual page rule for that book overrides that general rule, and auto-enable and dual page is active until another book is opened.

As for your second point, you are correct, the 'Set page mode: dual' does work when opening the book in landscape mode. I didn't notice since I was opening the book in portrait, then rotating, in which case it does actually change the setting (dual is selected in the layout menu in the bottom, and it stays selected regardless of rotating to portrait and back) but it needs to be re-toggled in landscape mode to actually display dual pages. A minor thing you may want to disable (block changing that setting in portrait), however I understand that this is irrelevant/trivial as auto-enable (in addition to Set page mode: dual) is the correct setting here (unless I set the book to always open and stay in landscape).
