Objective 4: Address Important Product Issues and Upgrade Production Pipeline

Motivation: Over the years we have compiled several known issues with HLS data based on internal findings and user reporting. A few of the important issues can be addressed in the HLS production pipeline. In addition, adding essential upgrades to the HLS development pipeline can benefit overall operations.

Description: Update the HLS production system by fixing a few of the important known issues associated with HLS products for the benefit of the HLS user community

Acceptance/Completion Criteria:

• Setup L30 validation pipeline
• Setup S30 validation pipeline
• Build capability to manually reprocess L30 products on demand
• Investigate the frequency and affected areas of important HLS known issues
• Identify and remove affected L30 granules that use L1GT input from L30 catalog
• Update consolidation (stitching) of S30 twin granules
• Apply ESA’s image quality mask in HLS processing for S30 products
• Review requirements for CARD4L (CEOS Analysis Ready Data for Land) compliance and identify gaps within HLS data
• Coordinate with LPDAAC to host HLS known issues on public facing HLS website.
