Will Harvest reload config and cert files when they get updated?

Once Harvest started running, we may still update config files or cert files. Will Harvest read these files periodically to reflect the changes, respectively?

For config files, I mean:

• /config
• /opt/harvest/conf/rest/default.yaml
• /opt/harvest/conf/restperf/default.yaml
• /opt/harvest/conf/zapiperf/default.yaml
  (If these are only read on Harvest startup, we will fix issues on our end)

For cert files I mean:

• /cert/ca.crt
• /cert/tls.crt
• /cert/tls.key
  (I expect some of them get updated by key rotations, so there are valid reasons to update them)

hi @songlin-rgb Harvest does not poll the file system or use an inotify style listener for config or cert changes. If you make changes to those files after a poller has started, you need to restart the poller.

Does that mean I need to restart the Harvest application (we use Kubernetes so there are ways to do that), or is there Harvest specific channel to instruct Harvest to restart some or all pollers? Thanks!

If you're using k8s, you probably have a single poller per cluster. If you make conf/rest/* template changes that you want all pollers to pickup, you'll want to restart all the pollers. On the other hand, if you rotate a cluster's certs, you would only need to restart that one poller.
