how do i disable the skipping nested paths thing

How do i disable this behavior This is preventing me from making backups.

@fennectech any chance you can rearrange your shared volumes to create unique paths for each of them?

we are disallowing nesting for a good reason: prevent invalid / inconsistent data to enter the CNID database

as a quick recap: we had been observing for some time invalid IDs entering in the CNID database, causing hard to debug bugs -- we then introduced strict CNID validation in the database backends, which in turn caused nested volume configurations to trip the validation and crash

anyhow, I'm curious to learn more about your setup and understand why nested volumes is important to you!

Im trying to wearable with symbolic links. But it seems to not help. I want /mnt/archive to be exposed but i want my Time Machine backups in /mnt/archive. For now im just making /mnt/archive into a backup drive

I would recommend a layout such as this, if you want to keep these volumes clustered under /mnt/archive:

[backup]
/mnt/archive/timemachine

[file archive]
/mnt/archive/files

Problem is /mnt/archive has ALOT of data that cant easily be relocated. And is the root of BTRFS filesystem. The other option is am considering is to create a subvolume on /mnt/archive and mount it elsewhere.
