User request: Tag other users without having to follow them first. #254

Right now, even if you know another Discussions' full username, you still cannot tag them.

As existing users invite their friends onto the platform, it is much easier to try and find them via their handle than their full profile url.

i.e
Find me on Twitter, I'm @JacquesWhales

Versus

find me on Discussions, I'm https://discussions.app/u/Jacques-nYYH/

I get your point but isn't this as simple as just linking your profile to your friend after signing up? Also, isn't this issue addressed later down the road by plans to have a registration/verification system for unique names since those who have enrolled can be globally tagged.

There's no good solution prior to the above that I've thought of or that has been suggested that doesn't raise the issue of imposers due to name collisions until uniqueness can be guaranteed.
