Top-level: our whole join funnel and is place in the website is known non-ideal. Not what this issue concerns.
There are two improvements to instructions we can make:
- Clarify what US joiners should do. Self-starters guess, but we can be clearer.
- Existing members who joined before July 2025 missed our current onboarding that emphasizes finding a local chapter.
