Hello,

When I try to download more pictures than allowed in an archive I get the following message:

You choose to download 1164 pictures, but the system is limited to 1000. You can edit the set, or the last 164 pictures will not be downloaded.

I cannot see a way to agree to the limited download on that page. I want to agree to just downloading up to the limit but there is no option. All I can do is go back and choose a number of pictures below the limit.

I have tried it with a reduced limit but it's still the same:

The only clickable links on the page are the "edit the set" link and the "home" link.

The request ends up sitting in the Downloads menu but when I click on it, it just takes me to the page in the screen shot above. I can also see the request on the admin page but there is no size listed so I expect the archive has not yet been created.

So how can I authorise the archive to be created? Any ideas?

Thanks Mark

Hello,

it was never planned to allow to "agree" with the limit, because it would mean to download randomly 500 files among the 16k.
The only solution is to edit the set and remove what you don't want to download (of course it is not feasible for 16k files).

Hello,

Thanks for the reply.

The number of files in the above example was only used as a test to see how the system worked.

I was just confused by the error message when it said I could go ahead and download the first 500 files if I wanted to. I couldn't find a way to do that.

Is there any chance of amending the error message so it matches the functionality? Something like this would, I feel, be more appropriate:

You choose to download 1164 pictures, but the system is limited to 1000. Please go back and edit the set so it contains no more than 1000 pictures.

Thanks Mark

Ho, my bad, I had a blurry memory of this feature (and didn't read the screenshot completely).
It's indeed a bug or an oversight in the message.

Unfortunately I don't develov for Piwigo anymore. You will have to wait for another person to fix this.
