The deploy.yaml GitHub Action is in need of some modernization.
Consider using this https://github.com/python-attrs/attrs/blob/main/.github/workflows/pypi-package.yml (including pushing to pypi-test on every commit to main and using Trusted Publisher (https://packaging.python.org/en/latest/guides/publishing-package-distribution-releases-using-github-actions-ci-cd-workflows/#configuring-trusted-publishing)
