In our last meeting we asked questions like "Do we want to teach people introductory R in this guide?" and "What level of R do we want to assume people have?"
I don't think we answered that question, but we probably should.
One thought is to say something like "If you are completely new to R, then we recommend working through at least the 'Whole Game' section of the 2nd edition of R for Data Science prior to reading the reset of this guide".
That is, teaching newcomers basic R is a whole thing in and of itself, and we might find it easiest to punt that to an established free resource as opposed to taking that project ourselves.
