Fixed in 9728eb1:

The GLIBC_2.39 requirement was caused by the release CI building on Ubuntu 24.04 (ubuntu-latest). We've updated the release workflow to build on Ubuntu 22.04, which links against GLIBC 2.35.

The next release binary will work on Ubuntu 22.04+. In the meantime, you can build from source:

cargo build --release -p openfang-cli
./target/release/openfang init
