I don't know why .env.example didn't update in repo but will do today, till then you can use below var in your env

backend

# MongoDB connection string
MONGODB_URL="YOUR_MONGODB_URL"

# Gemini API key
GEMINI_API_KEY="YOUR_GEMINI_API_KEY"

frontend

# Backend API URL
# Default: Flask dev server running locally
NEXT_PUBLIC_BACKEND_URL="http://127.0.0.1:5000"
