Originally reported on Google Code with ID 8382

Selenium webdriver for nodejs doesn't support https.

The code seems to always use 'http' module.
https://github.com/SeleniumHQ/selenium/blob/master/javascript/node/selenium-webdriver/http/index.js

Is it unintentional or there is some reason preventing the use of https protocol?

No reason, just hasn't been implemented. Patches welcome.
