When trying to restore a previous export, I am getting errors.

The export tool is exporting everything into one place, I would suggest it should export by using filenames. That would be the best way to re-add images again using "Local Artwork" feature and setting filename in the parser.

I have spent a really long time re-adding shortcuts, each time SRM decides to wipe all shortcuts from Steam (it has happened during the years many times).

So a good restore option that is more robust would be a good addition. Or a way to export the files by filename, and sorting them in respective folders when export: grid, portrait, icon, logo

Otherwise, if there is an alternative to restore my backups made with SRM which are not being restored, I am not sure.

The way it is currently designed, it doesn't support it's own "Local Artwork", because when exporting in batch then it just creates all these numbered files, with -tall for example to differentiate them and a json file.

But then as a user you have this batch of image files without any description or way to find them.
And the import option is too unreliable and it is also not cross compatible with other devices, at least in my case it doesn't work on different computers, if I export on one then I cannot import on another.

If the export was more organised, as suggested above with ${fileName} for example , and divided by folders, then it's own system for "local artwork" would support it's own export types. As a user, you could then just point these local artwork paths to the directories where the banner, portrait, heroes, icons, logos are exported.

At the moment, I have to painfully go through each of them, export them, but then it is exporting them with the final title, which also is not good for design, because then you are cutting of ways to recreate them again. Exporting them with fileName would make exact copy of image filename with rom filename, i think it makes more sense. Then when importing also would be way easier and less error prone.

I have created a batch renaming script that takes the {fileName} from the actual rom file, and then renames the image file to match {fileName}, so then I can point local artwork in srm to where the exported images in their respective folders: "banner", "portrait", "heroes", "icons", "logos" and to parse them and match them I use fileName.

Too much of a hassle, but I made this in order to conserve my choice artwork, and restore on different devices. But I think that SRM should definitely change the way the export is handled, I have really spent way too much time recreating my own shortcuts over and over and re-assigned them way too many times their respective images because suddenly they would be vanished (after an export, or update, or who knows exactly why, when that happens).
