Device

Device: OnePlus 6
Operating System: Stock OxygenOS 11.1.2.2 (rooted)
Android Version: 11

Version

2.6.2

Bug Description

Hi,

I've recently started using YouTube Vanced, it's amazing, thank you!

I've just upgraded to OxygenOS 11.1.2.2 from 11.1.1.1. YT Vanced could be installed on 11.1.1.1, but the latest 11.1.2.2 ships a newer version of stock YouTube app, so the one Vanced Manager tries to install is lower version, so it's complaining about downgrading.

However I removed the stock APK (pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.google.android.youtube in Terminal Emulator), reboot, still same error. Installed latest YT from Play, same error. Is there a way of fixing this myself (workaround) or you need to release a new version?

(Since there's no stock YT Music shipped, that stayed installed, and works. Didn't try re-installing.)

Thank you!

Additional checks

  • I have checked other bug reports and this is not a duplicate.
  • This is a bug in Vanced Manager and NOT YouTube Vanced/YouTube Vanced Music/Vanced microG.

Same issue here.

The solution I found for now is to use the non-root install method with SAI or just using Manager with non-root, have to uninstall both MicroG and Vanced for it to work.

Thanks, I've switched to the non-root variant in the Vanced Manager, that installs it. (But need to use MicroG.) Hopefully will get a fix for the root method.

I have the same phone and I had the same problem, it took me a while to fix it but in the end I used the Debloater module in Magisk by veez21 and I compelelty removed YouTube, then I installed it from the vanced manager.
