I think it would make sense to publish this on F-Droid in addition to #4. :)

F-Droid checklist:

  • F-Droid build flavor
    • Remove Crashlytics
    • Possibly other Google dependencies (Firebase, ...)
    • Check if Mobile Vision / ML Kit is fine
  • Create metadata
  • Push to F-Droid repo

I have taken the liberty to edit your first post to add a small checklist of what has to be done for a proper F-Droid release. I hope you don't mind 😄

+1 for this, although I understand your time is limited

Personally I'd prefer F-Droid, since I'm planning on a HA wall tablet control, and won't even hook up the login to my Google account (thus no Play store), and will be on the IoT WiFi VLAN so only can connect to HA, nothing else on my network.

Hi! Was wondering if this is still planned at all? I run my android devices in a de-googled state (no play store) and update my apps primarily through F-Droid. If it isn't that's all good I'm sure I can work around it. Thanks! :)
