[BUG] Screensaver set to dim screen - dims while in settings

If I select the screen to dim as screensaver, then the app starts the countdown timer as soon as I enter settings. Very annoying.

No way to solve it other than exiting settings and entering again (or temp disabling dimming)

Happens on a Fire HD 8 Plus 10th gen

i have this behavior with thinkmister and timewalker version on all my panels.
Nexus 7
Nexus 9 (lineageos)
Fire 10 7th gen (both)
Fire 10 9th gen

Here, on a Lenovo TAb M8 TB-8504F the dimming is also strange.

I "capture the screen brightness value to return to after dimmint at reasonable leve.
I give permission to control the screen brightness

Then I set the clock screensaver active
And the dim screen when in screensaver to 75%
However the screen dims immediately to a very dim level (I assume it's 75%) even without screensaver.

When I take away the permission ot control the screen brightness, the screen stays bright, but then (of course) doesn't dim with the screensaver active.
