Contributing

  • Open the demo directory in a VS Code extension host window
  • Collapse the Commonly Used section of settings.json to lead focus onto the right pane
  • Shrink that window to the smallest possible size that doesn't distort anything
  • Clip ScreenToGif exactly onto the window using the picker button
  • Hit Record at 10 FPS
  • Demonstrate features as listed in README.md
  • Ensure no regressions were introduced
  • Copy the repository directory path by right-clicking on the empty space in the explorer tree and selecting Copy Path
  • Insert that repository path into ScreenToGit
  • Replace screenshot.gif with the new clip
  • Run npm run test
  • Open up a pull request
