[Feature Request] select API by character instead of globally

Description

multiple APIs can be configured, but only one can be active at any time.
wouldn't it be more useful if the api to use was configured in the character configuration, so that multiple apis can be used by just switching between characters?
(to keep the current behaviour as an option, a default api selection could be offered.)
(as a user of openrouter, i would also like to have the model option in the character configuration instead of creating a separate api for each model, but i understand that would probably require more work.)

There are a lot of requests for auto-linking setups which have been a pain for me, eg Formatting linked to character or model linked to chats etc.

I want to plan a unified solution to all these problems instead of tackling these issues individually.

I am seconding this. I love the idea of being able to set formatting, etc, via character too though (for example my coding assistant / tutor pasting all code in code markdown) so appreciate the unified approach.
