Scheduling a Munich CG meeting #1781
Comments
Oktoberfest runs through October 5, and will no doubt cause hotels and maybe flights to be much more expensive than they would otherwise be; we probably want to avoid that week. (Maybe that means the following week is more desirable, if people want to combine their trips? 🤷 ) |
It looks like October 28-30 is a top contender based on space availability constraints. |
I cannot do October 13 - 17. I have a preference for October 20 - 24 over the week of October 27 - 31, unless the main CG meeting was scheduled for the 28th and 29th so I can get back by the 31st. |
@titzer, would research day on the 30th after the main CG meeting work for you? |
Also @conrad-watt, @rossberg and others, how strongly would you prefer not to do October 21-23, the week after ICFP? That week would work quite nicely with the room availability, too. |
Quite strongly unfortunately - I'll have academic visitors from the conference spilling into the next week. I could do
27-29 Oct or 3-5 Nov would be particularly convenient as I'd be in Europe anyway on these dates. EDIT: If 28-30th has to be precise given the availability sketched by Thomas above, would it be possible to have the research day on the final day? I could potentially stay for some time on the 30th, but this would give me the flexibility to dip out early if necessary. EDIT2: I think this matches @eqrion's request above - Main CG on 28th, 29th Oct, Research Day on 30th Oct. |
Google would like to host an in-person CG meeting later this year, probably in October or early November.
These are the possible weeks:
Are there other large conflicting events we should take into account?
