According to the documentation here:

https://github.com/Webklex/php-imap?tab=readme-ov-file#compatibility

With a screenshot just to make sure I'm seeing what is actually on my screen:

The latest version 6 is not compatible with PHP 8 and I'd have to use version 3 from 2022 to have it work with PHP 8?!

X means no though I'm guessing someone has that backwards. If X means support then it should definitely be changed to a checkmark: ✓. A forward slash / just means directory when I look at it which isn't relevant.

It would make a lot more sense if the following were used:

✓ = Supported.
X = Not supported.

Hi @jabcreations many thanks for your report and suggested change. However I'm fairly used to using "/" and "x" as markers and I'm not planing to change them.

You'll likely find them across several projects in the future:

  • "/", "-" generally stand for "No"/"Not". In this context "Not supported"
  • "X" generally stand for "Yes". In this context "Supported"

Best regards & happy coding,
