Version 7 Meshes can't be serialized

Title is pretty self explanatory.

I tried to serialize this hair mesh to use on my avatar, but the serializer didn't work on it and checking the file in notepad still showed the version was 7.00

Unfortunately I can't help much cuz I don't know anything about the format of mesh files. Any help is appreciated!

I attempted rfd serialise. The output remains the same as the output; both remain at version 7.

A recent commit to RFD added support for meshes stored in v6 and v7.

However, RFD uses a dependency DracoPy to decode these meshes. For now, you can run:

pip install DracoPy

In the future, I want to make sure that it's in native Python.

I tried the new commits after installing DracoPy but no luck.

I also tried to manually serialize the mesh and put it in the AssetCache folder but that didn't work either. I'll make sure to check if I did everything correctly.

Ah. Are you running RFD from source or from RFD.exe?

I also checked to make sure I did everything right with python and I'm pretty sure it looks good. (I have so little packages because I just installed Windows 10 a couple days ago, best decision of my life)

Oh. Since you already have Python installed on your machine, why not download the ./Source files and run RFD with Python?

Yeah, that was an oversight with my part. I wanted to keep the process simple so my friends could easily join so I just went straight to the exe.

I tried running it with python but I had some issues with running the player and getting the tqdm_vendored package, which I got around by just replacing it with tqdm. Here's the other issue I ran into when running the player, if it's any help.

However, back on topic, using the serialize method on the python version worked! I was able to manually use the command to get the mesh and see it in studio.

Although I also found that putting just the plain mesh ID in doesn't automatically serialize it like it does for 4.XX and 5.XX meshes.

The new serialized mesh also worked when used in the exe version of RFD, so it seems the serialization issue has to do with the executable.

@TheeSplatt: The issue you showed me the logs to seem be with another dependency. You might have installed an older version of that dependency.

Reinstalling those seemed to work, thanks! V7 meshes can now load in real time on both the source code and the executable.
However, for some reason they don't serialize when the player is on the localhost.

In this screenshot, the player on the left is connected to my WAN and the player on my right is connected to my localhost (which is the same server, in this case)

This is also an issue in studio as it uses solely the localhost so the V7 serialization doesn't work.

I'll attach the log from the player connected to localhost, but I wont send the other's log because I couldn't find a mention of the MeshIDs anywhere and it's over 2 million lines long so I'm unsure if it has any private data. If you need it, let me know. Thanks!

I've fiddled around some more but it's just given me some more trouble.
A couple hours later, without my PC turning off, all of a sudden the V7 meshes wouldn't load anymore, no matter the circumstances.
I was only able to get them back by first loading them in the source code version of studio, then playing a game. I have no idea why this behavior is caused, especially because that didn't work before.
Another thing I forgot to mention is that these meshes are being loaded in the retrieve_avatar function. I'm using some messy python code to take the sqlite datastore from another place that acts as an avatar maker to make consistent avatars through my games. Here's the code, if it helps:
