Still, I wonder, there actually is a Gaggia PID Kit that they sell, and people buy and install. I think that for the stick machine the temperature is an issue, and there are workarounds for example for the steaming wand not having enough pressure, by starting the steaming before it turns the boiler off. And I think this one is addressed here... |

Everything is handled, temp, steam, pressure, flow, scales... I won't be speaking about the PID kits as i'm not of great opinion about them also have not tried any so up to the people who tried them to compare. |

Sorry to be dense but what is a PID? No clue in reference to arduino |

Hi,
As far as I could see, the control of the heating element is not done via a PID algorithm, it's just a thermostatic control right ?
Is there a technical reason for this or it's just down the list of future improvement ?
I didn't look too much into the code yet, but I'm wondering how much resource handling the pulling of a temperature value and updating the display takes, and if there's enough cpu cycles left to do a correct PID compensation.
Any thought on this ?
