Layer Comps

Hi all,
Has anybody been able to get layer comps working with the image generator?
I've read over the docs on layer comps and changed my comp names to suffixed with "/", e.g.
DATE_Q1/
DATE_Q2/
Still just exporting the currently selected comp layers, was hoping for a folder named as per the layer comp with the relevant images contained within.
