Publish later (aka scheduled publishing)

One of my customers depends on this functionality for their business. Having this functionality as part of the sidekick to easily publish later would be amazing.

We have also had discussions with our customer on this topic. They typically do all their content changes using scheduling. We built a client-side version of this, but it leaves the content publicly visible (if discovered) before it is live. Having built-in scheduling would fix this.

I think usually what they want is some kind of reviews using the snapshot feature, where they can prepare a set of changes and then publish together on a set date. @rofe @davidnuescheler how difficult is it to re-use the review features we built for other customers?

@tripodsan rather difficult. I think we should build this independently from the review aspect for starters. But I would recommend creating a snapshot of the current page behind the scenes, and publishing the snapshot at the given time. I think that would be more intuitive than publishing the main version of the page with potential other changes made in between.

I would definitely NOT drop this feature because it is extremely important to a lot of our media/news customers.

Rather than complicating the requirement, the simplest form of what my customers would want is to see is a simple Publish Later Button on the sidekick that

• allows them to select a date/time in the future (from their timezone) to publish a page that has already been previewed.

Having the above would solve the most common publish later use-case.
