I was part of a team that created a library of software for developers. May I kindly suggest you include the tested versions of any supporting software in your package. You can easily update them into this package, saving all of the OpenSCAD community struggle trying to install according to your directions.

By doing so, you also guarantee users will have the versions of the supporting software that you have used.

I'm new to OpenSCAD, but not to source code package distribution and maintenance.
