It happens that I have an issue similar to what hvj78 reported.
Most of the tags I used in Evernote contain Chinese characters (in Simplified Chinese). After the conversion, the notes in Obsidian do have corresponding tags, but all the Chinese characters are missing, and most of them become empty tags.
(I also tried with the official importer plugin of Obsidian, which can convert the Chinese tags with no problem.)

Thanks for raising this issue, I improved the feature of removal of UTF characters in tags to be conditional, by default it is false, so if you try again with a fresh version (6.14.8), it should work as expected.
