ASUS X870-F STRIX - no front panel/headphones audio

Hello, I have an issue where I can't get my headphones/front panel jack to work - it is being detected upon connecting the headphones but no audio is being transmitted.

My motherboard is ASUS ROG STRIX X870-F GAMING WIFI, using the ALC4080. Bus 001 Device 007: ID 0b05:1b9b ASUSTek Computer, Inc. USB Audio

I am using Fedora 43 KDE and I have tried a lot of different fixes (such as disabling drivers, modifying the ALC4080 and ALC4080-HiFi files and way more) and nothing has worked out.
The motherboard is already in the UCM conf list for the ALC4080 (addressed as X870E-E but it's the same ID), but the front panel audio still does not work.

I am at the state where I freshly installed the system, and updated the alsa-ucm-conf using the commands provided (even though the default version already had the ID), and getting this error in alsaucm -i

Upgrade alsa-lib package in Fedora at first.

I did upgrade it however it did not fix it.
Well - the error's not here anymore but the sound is still not working. I am currently doing a fresh install because I've tried way too many things - so I really appreciate your quick response and help and I am ready to try and get it fixed.

Okay, so what I did:

• Installed a fresh Fedora 43 KDE install
• Updated all the packages

Also did speaker-test -c hw:CARD=0,DEV=0 and in the Audio Volume on the taskbar I can see that there's sound going into the headphones but nothing is actually coming through either.

You should try to max all playback volume controls in alsamixer -c Audio and try all playback devices (DEV=0,1,2,3).
If nothing is working, a special USB handshake is probably required as described in the parent issue to initialize this audio path.

Just did that. Made sure everything is maxxed and then went through DEV 0-6 in the speaker-test but no audio unfortunately.

Forgot to mention that I previously had a Fedora 43 install but due to a series of unfortunate events I lost the entire disk and I somehow did fix it back then - but since it was a few months ago I do not remember exactly what I've done - just know that it was something with the alsa thing...

Could it be that something was updated ever since and causes problems? No idea... hence why I opened this issue.
