I know this sounds crazy but hear me out! It's possible and would be really cool. What if - for select pokémon, specifically those that are featured as playable characters in the Super Smash Bros. series - you can export an amiibo.bin file? With that .bin file you can load it to an allmiibo device or an "amiibo NFC" phone app and create a working amiibo NFC tag which you can later scan into a 3DS, Wii U, or Nintendo Switch to train. Now that's the easy part. The real challenge would be how to properly translate a pokémon that was "trained" in Super Smash Bros back into OpenHome. I'd be really happy if you just got the export working or maybe not working, just generate a fresh Pikachu amiibo file with no stats as a save option when exporting Pikachu.
