Maybe this client could/should be a wrapper for the already existing couchdb client https://github.com/benoitc/couchbeam

This would be the same as HTTPoision is to hackney: https://github.com/edgurgel/httpoison

Why not ;-). Basically I started this to learn Elixir. So the intention was to build it from scratch. What do you think? Could be fun even though I can't find time at the moment.

Cheers

Hey, any updates on this? I would help where I can to get a couchbeam wrapper off the ground 😁

I know it's been a few years; I'd vouch for this to be a standalone project and/or rather build on ibrowse/HTTPotion because I had several issues with hackney (well, mostly this is a vim vs. emacs style of stance I have when it comes to ibrowse vs. hackney). I have ended up using my own ibrowse-based wrapper around the continuous updates and using couchbeam side-by side, but what couchbeam offers isn't really Elixir-friendly which is why I'm reconsidering to build my own library.

Since you've already used hackney in this project, I wonder if this is okay with you or if I should rather fork/restart the project then. You got name rights, so if you're holding on to it, I'll come up with something else.

I couldn't wait and did what I said, the project is currently called ICouch. It looks like there is a company called iCouch Inc. - albeit they are spelled with a lowercase "i", this might lead to problems. Since ICouch is in beta state, a name change would not be a big deal; so if you are willing to hand the repo over to me, I'd accept the offer.

ICouch has been written from scratch, so to be frank, you can't take any credit for the source code. I can mention your previous efforts in the readme, that's all I can offer in return.
