Subtitles breaking video

I'm trying to play a mp4 video on Jidoujisho and whenever I add a srt file for subtitles the video doesn't play, and Jidoujisho skips the video all the way to the end, and doesn't allow me to rewind it. I can see the subtitles there from the transcript and when I play the file from my phones video player it works fine. The subtitles are downloaded from kitsunekko (I've tried every single sub file there.)

Try playing other mp4 videos and see what happens. If things keep breaking and you're running jidoujisho 2.9.0 preview 2, try downgrading to the latest stable version (2.8.9) until we get a new stable version, since as of now 2.9.0 preview 2 has quite a few problems people have been reporting here. Even if by running 2.8.9 the video is broken, then it might be a problem with the video, idk?
