Unable to build for Android Studio

I just installed axmol, and am able to build and run on the ios simulator.
When i open the android folder in android studio, the gradle sync fails saying that i am using deprecated methods not available in gradle 9.0 or something like that.
But when i check the project structure settings, it says that i am using 8.7.3 and 8.11.1 just like the instructions say.
Any idea what i am supposed to do?

You can ignore those warnings. Did you attempt to build the project?

What are the specific errors you are seeing? Copy the actual errors and paste them in a post on here.

Ignore the gradle warnings; they have nothing to do with the issue.

The CMAKE I am using probably is the one that comes with Xcode

CMake isn't usually bundled with Xcode, so it's something you need to install yourself. A compatible version of cmake should have been installed when you ran ./setup.ps1 in the axmol folder. If you didn't see that happen, then you can install your own version (latest is 3.31.6). Install it using Homebrew or whatever method you usually use.

When creating the project should I do so from powershell or from the terminal ?

Cmake is definitely installed as I checked the version.

cmake -version
cmake version 3.29.1

From the terminal if I do:

axmol build -p android -a arm64

Then it seems to build without errors (only warnings), but back in android studio there is still the same error

Use powershell for everything

It makes no sense - but I upgraded android studio to meerkat, and it seemed the gradle error was not there. Its running fine in the simulator.
Studio asked if I wanted to upgrade gradle to 8.9.0 so I said no. So maybe it was an android studio error. Let me try with a fresh new project

It could be a configuration issue in the IDE that was resolved when Meerkat was installed, or even a bug in Ladybug.

I'm in the process of testing it out with Android Studio Meerkat on MacOS 14.x at the moment, just to see what happens.

UPDATE: No issues building in Android Sutdio Meerkat on MacOS 14.

It seems to work without any issue on meerkat. I created a new project from the terminal, opened it in android studio. When opening the project there are some bubbles that say C/c++ configuration problem, and a warning that says duplicate content roots detected, but when I click on the build / play symbol (triangle) the gradle build runs and the bubbles disappear (except for the bubble recommending upgrading gradle). Then the build completes, and opens the simulator running with it working. Trying cpp tests now. Cpp tests also seems to be running.

🙏thank you! I guess everything seems to be working👍. I guess it was some issue with that version of android studio.
