"Custom views" gone for ever?

Hi! First of all: thanks for fizzy. Is awesome and my daily kanban board for work and life.

I can see in this help guide that the bookmark icon is showing to "save a custom view" but i dont see it live.

After some research on the repo i found this release that removed the button (commit 86332e3a2fb0b30fe7691f2e1c48a7fe1ce7f8b5)
I can see that the “Save custom view” button is still there: app/views/filters/_filter_toggle.html.erb

Was it removed bc of a bug or something? Is this not coming back?
Is there (or will be) another way of having "custom views"? Im bookmarking filters urls in my browser but is not good
I am completely willing to help with this if it was removed bc of a bug or malfunctioning, but maybe it was a product decision, idk
