Save/Restore hyprland sessions

I have over a dozen windows open across 7 workspaces and when I restart or relaunch hyprland that I lose all of that setup, which is frustrating.

This was briefly discussed on the Hyprland repo in 2023: Persistent Desktop that keeps the apps open that you shut down using #2475, but this problem was dismissed as out of scope for hyprland. Someone there also mentioned hyprsession but claims its buggy.

Is this solvable?

I also wanted to use something like this.I recently created my own script in python.It does not support all applications though works fine for me.Maybe It can be some use to you.

So basically it records the hyprland client classes and locations, and when restoring you restart the application using a manually-maintained mapping of class to app binary + args. Neat, thanks for sharing!

How does your approach in hyprland-session-saver differ from hyrsession?

I think its pretty similar.I just wanted to write my own script so I can update it according to my usage and I mainly work with python.
